PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating sheet glass into small sheet glass plates.SOLUTION: A method for separating sheet glass into sheet glass plates comprises the steps of: preparing a sheet glass 1 having a flat surface and a sheet, plate, ribbon or film shape; scoring the flat surface of the sheet glass 1 using a mechanical scoring tool 20 to define sheet glass plates 4 each other or trimming the end parts of the sheet glass 1 being a glass film, a glass ribbon, a glass plate or a glass sheet; applying a blast liquid to form a wet film on the sheet glass 1; heating the wet film until at least partially evaporated; and thereby splitting scores 3 to form and separate new cut end parts in the sheet glass plate 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
