PURPOSE:To provide a crown cap capable of producing a pleasant sound on uncapping, by pressing a contacting against a top edge of a bottle opening on capping and, at the same time, forcing a projection portion into the interior of the bottle opening for close engagement of its outer peripheral face with the inner face of the wall of the bottle opening. CONSTITUTION:Upon placement of a crown cap 1 on a bottle opening 7, a skirt portion 2b of a crown cap body 2 is fixedly caulked over the outer face of peripheral top edge 7a of the bottle opening having an outwardly swollen form, with a contacting portion 4 of a packing 3 pressed against the top edge 7b of the bottle opening and simultaneously with a projection portion 5 forced into the interior of a bottle for close engagement of the outer peripheral face 5a with the inner face 7c of the bottle opening wall. Upon removal of the crown cap 1, a handle 12 is moved upwardly in the direction of the arrow, with a head portion 11 of a cap opener 10 engaged with the upper face of the crown cap body 2 and the lower end of the skirt portion 2b and the crown cap body 2 is then turned up and most of the skirt portion 2b is released from the caulked condition with the outer face of peripheral top edge 7a of the bottle opening 7 for an almost complete separation from the bottle opening 7. Also the projection portion 5 of the packing 3 is moved upwardly causing the outer peripheral face 5a to be separated completely from the inner face 7c of the bottle opening wall, whereby a compressed carbonic gas is expelled at a time into the air out of the bottle with a pop. |
