Disclosed are an electronic commerce system and a method therefor which provide a price discount service to a wired and wireless client terminal using virtual money through a network such as Internet, etc. In order to accomplish this, there is provided an electronic commerce system which provides a price discount service using virtual money, characterized in being configured to: analyze a virtual money use signal, when the virtual money use signal transmitted from a specific client terminal is received, to determine a varying discount rate; determine a sales price of a bid product to which the varying discount rate is applied; and provide information on the sales price to the client terminal. According to the present invention, a purchaser can buy a product at a price which is discounted from an online lowest price, and a system manager can earn extra money by selling virtual money in addition to a commission with respect to a product sales by prompting a purchaser to use the virtual money. |
