PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods of selecting centroid transcripts for a transcriptome-wide mRNA-expression profiling platform.SOLUTION: A method includes the following steps: 1) performing computational analysis on a library of transcriptome-wide mRNA-expression data from a first collection of biological samples, so that a plurality of transcript clusters are created, and selecting centroid transcripts; and 2) in a library of transcriptome-wide mRNA-expression data from a second collection of biological samples, checking whether expression levels of the centroid transcripts allow levels of non-centroid transcripts to be inferred, so as to identify useful centroid transcripts.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
