METHOD FOR PRODUCING IMAGE FROM NMR DATA AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce images from NMR data in such a way that all the irregularities in shape of a selected slab that are caused by the nonuniformity of a polarized magnetic field can be made to match with accuracy. SOLUTION: A slab is selected using both a slab selecting gradient 200 and a selecting RF excitation pulse 204 to collect three-dimensional NMR data 210. Imaginary frequency encoding for the NMR signals 210 collected is employed to select a thinner two-dimensional slice within each slab. The imaginary frequency encoding is achieved by varying gradient values in steps in the direction of slab selection, and at the same time, varying the time intervals between the RF excitation pulse 204 and the collection of the resulting NMR echo signal 216.
