1306828 Thiobenzamide derivatives BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 10 July 1970 [12 July 1969] 33592/70 Heading C2C The invention comprises a thiobenzamide derivative of the formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> represents an alkyl radical, the group -COR<SP>2</SP> where R<SP>2</SP> is an aliphatic radical which may be substituted by halogen, or a phenyl radical which may be substituted by Cl or OCH 3 , R<SP>1</SP> further represents the group where X is O or S and R<SP>3</SP> is an aliphatic radical, or R<SP>1</SP> further represents the group where R<SP>4</SP> is H or CH 3 and R<SP>5</SP> is an alkyl radical or a phenyl radical which may be substituted by CH 3 , halogen, OCH 3 or CF 3 . It may be obtained by reacting N-(α-hydroxy-#,#,#-tricliloroethyl)- 2,6-dichlorothiobenzamide with an appropriate alkylating agent, isocyanate, carbamyl chloride, carboxylic halide or chlorocarbonic or chlorothiocarbonic ester. Examples are given for the production of the compounds. They are useful as herbicides for protecting crop plants from weeds and may be applied in conjunction with solid or liquid carriers; wetting, dispersing or emulsifying agents; pesticides, fertilizers or other herbicides. |
