1,194,821. Sheet forming; laminates. CALMEC EXTRUFORM Ltd. 17 April, 1967 [22 April, 1966], No. 17699/66. Headings B5A and B5N. Articles are formed from laminated sheet material by co-operating tools 59 which are reciprocable along the path of travel of the sheet. The main sheet 1, of e.g. rubberized polystyrene, is extruded downwardly and is laminated to a thin subsidiary sheet 2, of clear polystyrene, between rollers 37 and 39. The sheet 2 carries a series of identification marks 5 to be incorporated into the finished article and a series of register marks 7. When the register marks pass between a photo-sensitive detecting means 49, 53 the tools are actuated to accurately register with and form an area of the downwardly travelling laminate carrying an identification mark. In an alternative embodiment only the extruded sheet is passed between rollers 37 and 39, the laminating being performed by a pair of rollers located directly below 37 and 39. |
