<p>Compounds of formula (I):- and their acid addition salts are used as CNS depressants, esp. as sedatives, tranquillisers and anti-depressants, with a higher therapeutic index than known ethanoanthracenes and with a longer duration of activity. Also used in vet. medicine as growth promoters, in foodstuffs as intermediates.</p> |
