PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress heat generation by a driver current by selecting between power supplies for supplying a first pulse potential which allows passage of an image visualizing particle through the gate of a control electrode and a second pulse potential which does not allow the passage, and supplying the first pulse potential to a switching means at least, through a resistance element. SOLUTION: A control power supply part consists of a first power supply 85 which supplies a potential allowing passage of a toner through a gate to a band-like electrode, a second power supply 84 which supplies a potential not allowing the passage, a resistance 83, an FET 88 as a potential switching means, an image signal control circuit 86 and an FET 89 as a pulse generating means. In this case, the time for supplying the potential not allowing passage of the toner through the gate is longer than the time for supplying the potential allowing the passage, and almost all the potential applied is the potential now allowing the passage. In addition, a power supply 95 is applied to an FET 94 through a resistance 93, and to electric current runs through the FET when the potential now allowing the passage is applied. Thus it is possible to avoid the non-conformity relative to heat generation and power consumption. |
