The frame (32) of the cultivator is fixed to the back end of the tractor (30), and has three adjacent beams (1) which are rigid flat and extend downwards. The bottom ends of the beams penetrate deep below the surface (36) of the soil. The foot (38) of the beam (1) points towards the tractor (30). One control lever of the beam (1) is hinged at the front to the frame (32) in a pivot bearing (39), and the other control lever (22) is hinged at the back to the beam (1) in a pivot bearing (22). The back end of the beam control lever (23) is hinged to the beam in a ball-and-socket (43), and the front end of the beam control lever (22) is hinged to the frame (32) in a ball-and-socket joint (44). A hydraulic cylinder (24) adjustable in length, is attached to the beam control lever (23), and the front of the cylinder (24) is attached to the frame in a pivot bearing (42).
