A rotary slide valve controlling the pneumatic or hydraulic pressure medium to several double acting drive cylinders, has a chamber housing a cylindrical rotary piston with two ring grooves, two cut outs and connecting bores for each connection between groove and cut-out such that by periodically turning through around 90 deg., the piston so controls the feed and return of the pressure medium that in the switch position for feeding the pressure medium for the fully pressurised piston of one cylinder already the control takes place to feed the pressure medium for the piston of another drive cylinder in a dead point position.
