<p>In the manufacture of hollow bodies from thermoplastic resins by (a) introducing a tubular parison or pre-form from the annular nozzle of an extruder injection head, into a blow mould at an injection station and subsequently moving this closed mould into a pre-blow station in which it is blow moulded to a pre-form by means of a blow mandrel inserted in the open end of the parison, (b) introducing the pre-form, suspended from the blow mandrel, into an open finishing mould in the finish blow-moulding station, where, after closing the mould it is blow-moulded to the finished hollow body, which is then removed after opening the mould, the further improvement whereby (c) the pre-blow mould moves forward in the closed state and backwards in the open state along one or more straight paths between a parison injection station and a pre-blow station and (d) two blow moulding aggregates with pre-forms blow moulded in the pre-blow station suspended thereon are advanced by straight paths between the pre-blow moulding and finish blow moulding stations and travel back empty. Compact plant, due to the very short straight paths of motion for the moulds and blow aggregate, no deforming forces are exerted on the suspended pre forms and the products are of high quality produced at high output.</p> |
