The headrest, with loudspeaker, allows the listener to hear a programme without disturbing people in the seats behind and in front. The headset is roughly U-shaped and has the two loudspeakers set into recesses in the sides of the U approx. where the sitter' ears are located. The padded headrest and the loudspeakers are covered with an air tight membrane. The volume of the loudspeakers is set by a knurled wheel set into the outside of the headset. The loudspeakers are flush with the surface of the headrest.
