Counteracting adiabatic cooling of aerosols - e.g. of brine or spa water by surrounding the aerosol stream with stream of warmed gas e.g. air

In the prodn. of temp.-controlled (i.e., warned) aerosols for the treatment of humans or animals (esp. with atomised brine), the treatment liq. or brine is atomised by means of a gaseous propellant medium (esp. air) and an aerosol stream is formed directed into the space occupied by the patient or patients. On leaving the atomiser, the aerosol stream is enclosed by a substantially parallel stream or warmed gas (esp. air), this parallel stream being admixed into the aerosol stream before reaching the space occupied by the patient(s). Appts. comprises an aerosol feed channel between an aerosol atomiser and the attachment to the patient or the space occupied by the patient, this being surrounded by a heating mantle for heating gas which is injected into the aerosol stream at an appropriate point. Used in the application of e.g., spa waters in aerosol form for therapeutic purposes. Surrounding the stream of atomised liq. with arm gas (esp. air) counteracts the undesirable adiabatic cooling effect.
