Control of insects in organic prods. in storage is effected by introducing ozone into the storage space. The ozone is used esp. in grain silus and has no toxic effect on product. A typical dose of ozone for control of Sitophilus granarius is 0.02g/m3 of grain. Typical insects to be controlled are Sitophilus and Cryptolestes, mites and other Arachnids also being controlled. Time of treatment depends on the insects to be controlled. |
