PURPOSE:To direct the output direction of the output beams of a light emitting diode, assembly thereof is completed, with high accuracy by detecting the direction of the output beams and mounting and supporting the diode to a reference plate so that the output beams of the diode are directed in the predetermined direction. CONSTITUTION:A laser diode chip 2 is fixed into a stem 3 and a cap 8, and laser beams are outputted from a window section 8a. With the reference plate 16, mounting holes 17 are shaped at both end sections and a lead inserting hole 18 at the central section. The reference plate 16 is fastened temporarily into a plate fixer A, the laser diode 1 is set into a laser beam detector B, light is emitted, the direction Z of the laser beams and the directions X, Y rectangular to the direction Z are detected and adjusted, and the diode is positioned to the reference plate and mounted and fixed. Accordingly, the output direction of the bems is directed with high accuracy to the reference plate. |
