<p>PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary to apply a noise absorbing means over the entire length of a piping, by attaching, by means of flanges, a means having a noise absorbing material to a portion of a conduit connected to a silencer disposed at the end portion of an exhaust system of an engine. CONSTITUTION:A straight pipe 1 or a curved pipe 3 having flanges 5, 4 at the oposite ends thereof and incorporating therein a noise absorbing means having noise absorbing members 18, 19 of glasswool or a like material reinforced with porous members 6-13 is attached at a portion of a conduit in an exhaust system connected to a silencer that is disposed at the end portion of the exhaust system of an engine. By thus attaching a noise absorbing means at a portion of a piping, it is made unnecessary to apply a noise absorbing means over the entire length of the piping as in the conventional arrangements.</p> |
