For adjusting the height position of a drain cover which is set in a roadway and comprises a frame construction of fixed height, the existing frame construction is cut off substantially horizontally immediately under its upper part 2' forming the cover seat, while the lower part 2'' of the frame construction is still at least partially embedded in the surrounding material 6 of the roadway. The lower part 2'' is left undisturbed, while the upper part 2' is removed and replaced with a new cover- supporting ring which interacts telescopically with the remaining lower part and which is of the type which, in the restored roadway, is supported by an outwardly directed bearing flange. A cover-supporting ring of special design can be used in frame constructions with internal, vertically extending support flanges and can be adapted for use in two different standard models of frame constructions for manholes. <IMAGE> |
