<p>A method of determining the absolute absorption coefficient (chromophore concentration) and the modified scattering coefficient in highly scattering media, comprising measuring the intensity, and phase and modulation depth changes that are induced by small absorption coefficient changes or changes in the distance between light source and detector. Absorption coefficient changes can be induced by a) changes in the chromophore concentration or, b) small changes in wavelength.</p> |
