PURPOSE:To enhance thermal color forming properties and enable an unreacted diazo compound to be fixed through photolysis after thermal recording, by incorporating at least one of specified compounds into a recording layer comprising microcapsules containing a diazo compound therein and a coupling component. CONSTITUTION:At least one compound selected from hydroxy compounds, carbamic ester compounds, aromatic methoxy compounds, organosulfonamide compounds, fatty acid amides, N-subst. fatty acid amides, ketone compounds, urea compounds and ester compounds is incorporated in the recording layer provided on a base and comprising microcapsules containing a diazo compound therein and a coupling component. The compound thus incorporated in the recording layer lowers the melting point of the coupling component or a basic substance, or enhances thermal transmittance of microcapsule walls. The compounds incorporated may be used for forming the microcapsules together with a core substance, or may be used in the exterior of the microcapsules by adding them after applying a thermal recording material, but it is preferable to add the compounds in the exterior of the microcapsules as dispersed solids. |
