PURPOSE:To perform accurate focusing by newly obtaining the extent of driving to a focus position of a freely moving lens while moving this lens to the focus position to control driving of the lens. CONSTITUTION:A new more accurate extent of driving to the focus position of a freely moving lens 53 is obtained and the lens 53 can be moved in accordance with this extent even while the lens 53 is moved. Thus, the initial extent of driving including error is corrected, and focusing is performed with a high precision in a short time because it is corrected without stopping the lens 53. |
