<p>A liquid composition is described which comprises: (A) a major amount of a fluorine containing hydrocarbon containing one or two carbon atoms, and (B) a minor amount of a soluble organic lubricant free of acetylenic and aromatic unsaturation and comprising at least one sulfone or sulfoxide characterized by the formulae: (I) R1(R2)SO2 and (II) R1(R2)SO, wherein R?1 and R2¿ are each independently hydrocarbyl groups, -R?3O(O)CR4, -NR4R5 or -R3NR4R5¿ groups wherein R3 is a hydrocarbylene group, and R?4 and R5¿ are each independently hydrocarbyl groups, or R?1 and R2¿ are hydrocarbylene groups joined together to form a cyclic moiety including the sulfur atom, or R1 is a hydrocarbyl goup and R2 is OR¿6? wherein R?6¿ is a hydrocarbyl group. The liquid compositions exhibit excellent thermal stability and are useful particularly as refrigeration liquids in refrigerators and air-conditioners including auto, home and industrial air-conditioners.</p> |
