PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disperse oxide film powder into water slurry in high concentration by containing a strontium salt of a copolymer of olefin having a carbon number in a specific range and maleic anhydride. SOLUTION: A copolymer is obtained by copolymerizing in an organic solvent such as hydrocarbon a monomer mixture of maleic anhydride and olefin having a carbon number of 4 to 10 of aliphatic monoolefin and the like such as isobutene, butene-1, and butene-2; cyclic monoolefin such as cyclopentene and cyclooctene using a radical initiator such as organic peroxide and azo compounds. The copolymer is brought into reaction with strontium hydroxide in water to produce aqueous strontium salt. Hereby, metal oxide powder is dispersed into water slurry in high concentration.
