Furan diaryl-methylidene derivatives of formula (I) are new. A, B = phenyl, naphthyl, a heterocyclic group having 5-6 links and 1-4 heteroatoms, or a 3-7C saturated cyclic hydrocarbonyl; at least one of X1, X2, Y1, Y2 = S(O)nR or SO2NH2, in para position; and the others = H, halo, 1-6C alkyl, CF3 or 1-6C O-alkyl; or X1+X2 or Y1+Y2 = methylenedioxy; R1-R4 = H, halo, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C haloalkyl, or phenyl, naphthyl, thienyl, furyl or pyridyl; or R1+R2 or R3+R4 = O; or CR1R2 or CR3R4 = a saturated 3-7C hydrocarbon ring; n = 0-2; and R = 1-6C alkyl or 1-6C haloalkyl.
