PURPOSE:To obtain the subject film, excellent in adhesion and useful as a packaging material, etc., by casting an aqueous solution, prepared by dissolving water-soluble polysaccharides in water and containing polyhydric alcohols, drying the cast film so as to provide a moisture content below a prescribed value and then forming a hot-melt layer on the surface of the film of the polysaccharide layer. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution, prepared by dissolving water-soluble polysaccharides such as sodium alginate in water and containing polyhydric alcohols such as ethylene glycol therein is cast and dried so as to provide <=25wt.% moisture content. A hot-melt layer (having preferably 1-3mum thickness) such as ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer is then formed on at least one surface of the resultant film of the polysaccharide layer to afford the objective film. Furthermore, the polyhydric alcohols are used in an amount of preferably 0.2-1 pt.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. water-soluble polysaccharides. An interlayer composed of a substance having hydrophilic and hydrophobic parts in the molecular chain is preferably provided between the layer of the polysaccharides and the hot-melt layer. |
