ULTRASONIC SIGNAL PROCESSOR AND ULTRASONIC THICKNESS METER

PURPOSE:To exactly detect the echo position included in the echo signal from an inspected body and exactly calculate the thickness of the inspected body from the detected echo position. CONSTITUTION:An echo signal (b) output from an ultrasonic transmission reception part 1 is converted with a specified sampling frequency fs into digital signal and it is stored in a register 17. Then, this sampling data is read out with a lower readout frequency fg than the sampling frequency. A covex digital correlation wave form of the echo wave form included in the readout echo signal b2 to the reference wave form stored in a reference wave form register 22 is obtained. The echo signal including the correlation wave form is converted to analog signal. Also in an ultrasonic thickness meter, the time interval T2 between each of correlation wave forms of each echo at the bottom surface 2b and the incidence surface 2a which are included in the echo signal and the thickness D of the inspected body are calculated from the sonic velocity C.
