The steps have a ladder (110) on one side with two uprights (116,118) and steps (120). The other side of the step ladder (112) provides stability and has two uprights (122,124) and spacers (126). The platform (130) pivots around an axis (132). The uprights of both sides pivot around the main axis (128) and a support pivots around the axis (138). The main axis is on the supporting side of the ladder and the axis for the support is on the ladder side. Small rods (134) are positioned between the platform and the ladder side so that the platform moves in relation to the two sides of the stepladder. The edge of the platform extends as far as the edges of the steps.
