Manufacture of tub- or bowl-shaped sanitary products, with a concave deep-drawn thermoplastic layer on the front side and a polyurethane foam layer on the convex back side bonded to the thermoplastic layer, comprises heating a film or sheet blank until it reaches a thermoplastic state, then three-dimensionally moulding the blank and then coating the convex side with polyurethane. The front side is secured between a tensioning frame and a baseplate. During coating with polyurethane the concave side is impinged with a gas at 1.01 - 10 bar supplied via the baseplate. Preferably gas pressure is increased from 1.01 to 1.8 bar during coating. The gas increases the temperature of the front side to ca. 40-70 deg C.
