Valve control for internal combustion engines

The valve control is fitted to an internal combustion engine (1), which has a combustion chamber (6) which is formed above a piston (3) in a cylinder (2). The chamber is sealed by one or more induction valves (8) and at least one exhaust valve (11). The closing of the exhaust valve is advanced so that it is closed before the piston reaches the top dead centre point. This adjustment of the valve closure may be achieved by displacing the entire lifting curve for the valve, in the early direction.
