PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size, weight and cost of a current resonance type power factor improving converter circuit which is particularly used for a heavy load. SOLUTION: In a power factor improving converter circuit, the switching output of a current resonance type converter having switching devices Q1 and Q2 which are coupled by a half-bridge coupling is superposed upon a rectifying output line through a serial resonance circuit (N1 and C1 ) to improve a power factor. 3 sets of the above described power factor improving comverter circuits 10A, 10B and 10C are connected in parallel to a commercial power supply AC. An AC input current IAC is distributed among the bridge rectifying circuits Di1 , Di2 and Di3 of the power factor improving converter circuits 10A, 10B and 10C to have a total load power shared by the respective power factor improving circuits. |
