<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a connection optical fiber unit so as to be easily dislocated onto a sea connection part, sink it on a stage, draw up it in the case of investigation and detection an abnormal point. SOLUTION: An optical fiber compound submarine power cable 1 compounding an optical cable 3 arranged on the periphery is connected to a sea connection part 2 in each 100Km. Here, only the power cable 1 is connected, and without connecting the optical cable 3, an end part is placed in an edge cut condition. In the end part of this optical cable 3, a connection optical fiber unit 4 receiving an optical fiber in a stainless steel pipe is connected by fusing, a stainless steel pipe end part is welding sealed by a seal 7, and a ring 6 is mounted. This connection optical fiber unit 4 is coil form- taken by an about 1m diameter, fixed so as to be easily dislocated onto the sea connection part 2 and sunk on a stage previously set up in the sea bottom. In the case of investigation, the sunk connection optical fiber unit 4 is drawn up by an unmanned dividing machine, a tip end is cut off, and an abnormal point of the optical cable 3 is detected.</p> |
