A liquid crystal display device comprising a liquid crystal display panel and a semiconductor integrated circuit for controlling and driving the liquid crystal display panel. The display device has a smaller number of input/output wirings connected to input/output terminals of a semiconductor integrated circuit to simplify the wiring pattern of the input/output wirings, and freedom of the wiring pattern of the input/output wirings is improved. The liquid crystal display panel includes a pair of insulating substrates, and the seminconductor integrated circuit is mounted on one of the insulating substrates. The semiconductor integrated circuit includes a mode terminal kept at a power source potential or a reference potential during the operation of the semiconductor integrated circuit, and a power source dummy terminal connected to the power source potential or to the reference potential inside the semiconductor integrated circuit. The mode terminal is connected to the power source dummy terminal by the wiring pattern formed on the pair of insulating substrates.
