PURPOSE: To provide a method for obtaining freeze-dried product of erythrocyte cell capable of being reformed into the erythrocyte cell by dipping many erythrocytes in a buffer solution containing a polymer such as monosaccharides and polyvinylpyrrolidone, and a polyanion, refrigerating the dipped erythrocytes, and further subliming water therefrom. CONSTITUTION: A medium for freeze drying of erythrocyte cell comprising a buffer solution containing 7.0-37.5% (especially 23%) monosaccharides (e.g. xylose, glucose and ribose) and at least 0.7% polymer having 1K-360K (especially 5K-50K) molecular weight (e.g. polyvinylpyrrolidone and dextran), and at least 0.01% (especially 0.1-1.0%) polyanion (e.g. pyrophosphoric acid, triphosphoric acid and 2,3-diphosphoglyceric acid) is obtained. The objective freeze-dried erythrocyte cells are obtained by dipping the many erythrocyte cells in the medium for freeze drying of the erythrocyte cells and freezing the dipped erythrocyte cells and subliming water therefrom to dry in the method for obtaining freeze-dried product of the erythrocyte cell. The reforming of the erythrocyte cell is performed by bringing the freeze-dried erythrocyte cells into contact with an aqueous solution containing an amphihilic polymer having 1K-360K molecular weight, and having 20wt.% concentration. |
