<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control fused glass to a desired stream without local heating up of the glass and to obtain the high-grade fused glass by providing a furnace wall side with oxygen-fuel burners and disposing electrodes making a pair in a direction approximately orthogonal with the flow direction of the fused glass at prescribed intervals in the furnace. SOLUTION: Plural pieces of the oxygen-fuel burners 2 are installed at suitable intervals at the furnace walls 1a on both sides of the glass fusing furnace 1 built of electroformed alumina-zirconia-silica refractories having excellent corrosion resistance. Plural pairs of the electrodes 3 are arranged at the bottom 1b of such glass fusing furnace 1 so as to make a pair in the flow direction of the fused glass G in the glass melting furnace 1. The electrodes 3 are connected to a controller 4 in such a manner that the supply of the electric power to the electrodes 3 may be executed with each of the respective electrode pairs. As a result, the occurrence of a fast flow phenomenon in the fused glass G of the glass fusing furnace 1 is averted. In addition, NOx may be decreased with high thermal efficiency.</p> |
