PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable biosensor applied water quality meter gentle to environment. SOLUTION: A soln. prepared by adding sodium bicarbonate to a conventional sodium tetraborate aq. soln. containing iron and magnesium ions in a chelated form is used as a new buffer soln. Since this soln. contains carbonate ions preliminarily, this soln. does not receive effect even if carbonate ions are contained in water to be inspected and the sensor output at the start-up of a biosensor becomes constant and stable long-term monitoring becomes possible.
