PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the reduction of erroneous detection by providing a first detecting and scanning cycle just after the setting of an original and a second detecting and scanning cycle after the lapse of a fixed time from the setting of the original. SOLUTION: An original 2 is placed on a transparent original platen 3, a beam from an optical scanning mechanism 5 just after setting is defined as a first detecting and scanning cycle (c) and next, it is changed to α as the second detecting and scanning cycle after the lapse of fixed time (the start of copy operation) from the setting of the original 2. As timing to change the cycle to such a second detecting and scanning cycle (d), it is synchronized with the lapse of several seconds or the timing to start operating a scanner after the original 2 is set to the original platen 3 and an original presser plate is closed. In this case, the rotation number of a motor 9 is set so as to establish the condition of c<d. Thus, time to stabilize the motor 9 is shortened and the erroneous detection at the starting time of the motor 9 can be eliminated. |
