PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic terminal thinning method to configure a LAN system at a reduced cost with a desired reliability. SOLUTION: In plural (n) host computers 2 and 3, a network 1 is connected to by a substitute host computer 6 which has almost the same processing ability as each of host computers 2 and 3. When plural host computers 2 and 3 out of the plural n host computers 2 and 3 break down, specified plural m terminals (m is the maximum number of terminals that the substitute host computer 6 can allow) including a terminal which is selected in an order of the use rate out of terminals 4-1 to 4-j and 5-1 to 5-k corresponding to these host computers 2 and 3 are automatically substituted by the substitute host computer 6. |
