PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera apparatus employing an electron bombardment multiplier comprising a charge transfer solid camera device with high image resolution and high sensitivity, an improved S/N ratio, and a long life time. SOLUTION: This camera apparatus utilizes an electron bombardment multiplier comprising an input face plate 12 and a ceramic side tube 16 as a camera element, a vacuum container made of a ceramic stem 17 and housing a photoelectron face 13 emitting photoelectrons from the face opposed to the incidence plane corresponding to incident light and a back face incidence type FT-CCD 11 whose incidence plane is positioned in the photoelectron proceeding route. The number of the pixels of the camera part 11a of the FT-CCD 11 in the vertical direction is the same or more than the number of the output scanning lines and a minus voltage is constantly applied to the transfer electrode of the camera part 11a during image accumulation. Consequently, the dark current is suppressed, the S/N ratio is heightened and excellent resolution is retained and the sensitivity is improved. |
