PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent leakage or scatter of toner from both end part of a blade, and to prevent the stain of the inside of a developing device and an image, and deterioration of the image quality. SOLUTION: In this device, an elastic sealing member 7 is inserted into a space of a wedge shape formed between a developing roller 1 and a blade 5, an the vicinity of both end of the blade 5 in the axial direction of the developing roller 1. The elastic sealing member 7 is, affixed at the top surface on the blade 5 facing the developing roller 1, and partially exposed outside from both end part of the blade 5 in the axial direction of the developing roller 1. Then, on the outside of both end part of the blade 5 in the axial direction of the developing roller 1, a side sealing member 9 held in contact with the periphery of the developing roller 1 is disposed, and the elastic sealing member 7 is brought into close contact with the side sealing member 9. Thus, the contact force by the blade 5 with respect to the developing roller 1 is prevented from becoming excess in a part in the axial direction, therefore, non-uniformity of the layer thickness on the toner thin layer owing to the occurrence of partial deformation on the extension part of the blade 5 can be surely prevented. |
