PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a round blade for steel plate cutting installed in a steel plate trimming device for uniforming a hot-rolled band steel width. SOLUTION: Concerning a steel plate trimming device for uniforming a hot-rolled band steel width, this device is a steel plate trimming device having a vapor phase coating on the surface of a semi-cemented carbide round blade of cermet material quality composed mainly of a tungsten carbide, to put it concretely, having a vapor phase coating in semi-cemented carbide material having an ion-plating treated coating comprising a 3-layered coating of TiN coating as the lowermost layer, TiCN coating as an intermediate layer and TiN coating as the outermost surface. The vapor phase coating exists in such a semi-cemented carbide material that, concerning the chemical composition of the ion-plating treated coating, a ratio of the tungsten carbide is 74-76 wt.% and a ratio of Co is 24-26 wt.%, and that a hardness of the semi-cemented carbide round blade of the cermet material quality before giving the ion-plating treated coating is Hs: 78-81.
