PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of a cathode-ray tube adjusting, and provide a manufacturing method of cathode-ray tubes having an improved throughput. SOLUTION: Picture data, obtained by picking up a measurement pattern by a CCD camera, are integrated in a direction corresponding to a stripe direction of the cathode-ray tube, thereby signals having large S/N ratios can be obtained. By detecting the position of a measurement pattern based on the signals, high accuracy position detecting can be performed.
