PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope having a therapeutic implement insertion passage allowing a user to use a therapeutic implement safely with a prescribed projection length without any adjustment even if the endoscope is exchanged for another one for using the therapeutic implement if the new one is of the same model, and allowing the user to set the projection length of the therapeutic implement as the user likes based on the necessity without affecting the arrangement of built-in materials inside the insertion part. SOLUTION: A therapeutic implement insertion hole 31 is disposed near the top end of an operating part 20, and a connection part 40 for connecting the therapeutic implement insertion passage divided on the way is fixed near the lower end of the operating part 20. The length of the therapeutic implement insertion passage is variable both in the direction of extension and in the direction of contraction between the therapeutic implement insertion hole 31 and the connection part 40.
