PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which magnification can be corrected in the main scanning direction through the same operation as the normal print operation without complicating the lighting control of a light beam. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus for forming an image on a photosensitive body 1 by scanning it with a light beam and neutralizing the photosensitive body 1 by lighting the light beam comprises first and second sensors 21a, 21b for detecting the light beam at two points on a main scanning line at the time of neutralizing the photosensitive body 1, and a section 24 for measuring the time difference T after the light beam is detected by the first sensor 21a before detected by the second sensor 21b and correcting the magnification of an image on a carrier in the main scanning direction based on the time difference T.
