PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always obtain stable focusing accuracy for an object without taking a complicated constitution at all while accompanying an additional specification and a new function with respect to autofocusing and to realize comfortable autofocusing by inhibiting unnecessary lens movement. SOLUTION: This controller possesses a driving means to move a lens, a moving amount detecting means to detect the moving amount of the lens, a position detecting means to detect the present position of the lens, an arithmetic means to calculate the moving amount of the lens so as to perform focusing at the object, a storing means to previously store data meaning specified moving ranges P1-P4 narrower than the maximum moving range of the lens and a lens stop controlling means to control whether or not to stop the movement of the lens regardless of the moving amount of the lens obtained by the arithmetic means based on the stored data of the storing means and the position information of the position detecting means. |
