PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute an accurate and easy positioning of an intake locker arm in the thrust direction eliminating the need for a particular member in an engine equipped with a variable valve timing/lift mechanism of an intake valve. SOLUTION: The journal part 35a of a valve cam shaft 352 is supported with the cam bearing part 16a integrally provided at a cylinder head 162, and an intake locker shaft 762 is fixed to the locker shaft fixing parts 16b-16e provided at the upper surface of the cam bearing part 16a with bolts 95. Both sides of the intake locker arms 83, 84, 85 supported freely slidable with an intake-locker shaft 762 are brought into contact freely slidable with a positioning face 61j formed integrally on the both sides of the cam bearing part 16a so as to execute positioning of the locker arms 83, 84, 85 in the thrust direction.
