A printing system and a printing method using an FTP(File Transfer Protocol), and a user terminal and an image forming device applied to the same are provided to prevent resource waste of the user terminal, the image forming device, and the network by using only the FTP. The user terminal(100) transmits a printing option and printing data by using the FTP. The image forming device(200) receives the printing option and the printing data, and prints the printing data by applying the received printing option. The printing option is defined by an extended command of the FTP. In case that the image forming device does not support the extended command, the image forming device performs an operation according to a standard command by ignoring the extended command.
