A lens shading correction device for an image sensor and a correction method thereof are provided to compensate a lens shading phenomenon of the image sensor. A luminance weight value storing unit(220) divides a reference image into reference image blocks, and stores luminance weight values of the reference image blocks generated on the basis of the highest luminance representative value among luminance representative values of the reference image blocks. An input image dividing unit(230) divides an input image into input image blocks to correspond to the reference image blocks. An input image luminance correcting unit(240) multiplies a luminance of an input pixel included in the input image blocks by the luminance weight values of the reference image blocks corresponding to the input image blocks, and corrects the luminance of the input image.
