A device and a method for displaying information are provided to output stored display information on a screen in reproducing a media file by storing the display information including media and font information of the media file. A storing part(100) stores a media file, and the display information including the media and font information of the media file. A processor(110) outputs the display information generated from the media information and default font information to a display part(130) according to presence of the display information of the media file when the media file is played. A font maker(140) makes the font when the font requested from the user is not found in the storing part. A format converter(120) converts and outputs a format of the display information according to the display part.
