PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an analgesic agent, comprising limonin as an active ingredient, capable of manifesting excellent analgesic effects and effective in relieving pains of cephalalgia, toothache, pharyngalgia, otalgia, arthralgia, neuralgia, lumbago, myalgia, contusive pain, sprain pain, algomenorrhea, etc. SOLUTION: This analgesic agent is obtained by immersing Evodiae Fructus which is a fruit of Evodia rutaecarpa or Evodia officinalis in methanol at ambient temperature, carrying out the extraction, distilling off the methanol in the methanol extract solution, providing a methanol extract, dissolving the resultant extract in a solvent of water and acetic acid at 3:5 ratio of the water: acetic acid, treating an ethyl acetate fraction by column chromatography, purifying the ethyl acetate fraction, thereby affording limonin, using the limonin as an active ingredient and then preparing the analgesic agent together with a carrier as a form such as a peroral agent, a parenteral injection, a suppository, an ointment or a plaster. The resultant analgesic agent has excellent analgesic effects and is effective against cephalgia, toothache, pharyngalgia, otalgia, arthralgia, neuralgia, lumbago, myalgia, contusive pain, sparain pain, alomenorrhea, etc. |
