A device and a method for chamfering a wire member are provided to perform a coupling operation or an assembling operation of the wire member easily and improve the handling of the wire member by easily forming a chamfered portion on an end corner part of a wire member. A device and method for chamfering a wire member comprises: a body(40) having a transfer hole(41) such that a wire member transfers through the transfer hole; a pair of pressurization sliders(12,14,16,18) which are oppositely disposed on the circumference of the transfer hole and are movable toward the transfer hole; pressurization tips which are provided at front ends of the pressurization sliders, and have a semicircular groove with a radius smaller than a diameter of the wire member; at least one cutting slider(15) that is formed on the circumference of the transfer hole, and is movable toward the transfer hole; and a cutting tip on a front end of the cutting slider.
